Test Masters is proud to announce Karen Li as the most recent addition to a growing group of Test Masters Perfect Score students. As one of the fastest growing professional test preparation companies in the nation, Test Masters is overjoyed to add Karen to the list of Test Masters perfect score students from the 2012 calendar year.
Karen, a junior at Cypress Falls High School, has a versatile range of interests. Though she’s unsure of what college or university will someday be lucky enough to call her a student, Karen does know that she wants to pursue an undergraduate education in biology or economics, maybe even both! (Can anybody else say “private practice”?)
When she’s not dreaming of jet-setting from New York City to Dubai, Karen is a varsity tennis player for the Cy-Falls Eagles and a long-time member of the Key Club (a very well regarded service organization). Karen was encouraged to take the Test Masters SAT course by friends, saying, “They had scored very well on the SAT, so I followed in their footsteps.” And we are very happy she did! In addition to joining the ranks of other elite Test Masters alumni, Karen won a $1000 scholarship for her perfect score.
As a member of the top 1% of test takers in the country, we just had to sit down with Karen and figure out what her secret to success was. It turns out it was Test Masters! Let’s see what Karen had to say about her preparation strategies, her recommendations to students preparing for the SAT, and the role Test Masters played in her journey from test taker to test expert.
Q: What did you like best about Test Masters?
A: “Exam Club was very helpful. Exam Club helped me realize that questions are repeated in the SAT and that the SAT is predictable, to an extent. The candy at the course classes was a “sweet” addition to the class.”
Q: How helpful was Test Masters in helping you attaining a perfect score?
A: “Not only was the information really important and hit all the areas that students who want to achieve a perfect score needed to focus on, but the teachers didn’t make it boring. It wasn’t like a lecture, it was like fun and games.”
Q: Could you tell us what you thought of the teachers at Test Masters?
A: “I think the material could have been overwhelming but the teachers did a really good job. They were funny, which lightened the seriousness of a SAT course and made the material easier to learn.”
Q: What advice would you have for the students preparing for the SAT?
A: “I think the most beneficial study technique for me was to read as much as I could about SAT methods and make a list of which ones suited me. There are endless amounts of study tools, but they don’t all work for everyone. Keep a discerning eye for tools that are useful to you and the score range you’re currently in.”
Without further ado, but with much aplomb, let’s let Karen speak for herself:
